SEPTEMBER 2008
|
Hello and welcome to the ninth edition of “In The Groove”, the Groove Kitchen & Music Rooms monthly newsletter. September means
back to school, and back to reality for most people. Throughout the summer it has been business as usual for us. The staff here would
like to thank everyone for your understanding of our week long shut down in August for our summer vacation. It was a much deserved break
for us and we all came back refreshed and ready to roll.
Those of you that visit The Groove often will agree that things are always changing. Last month we were able to complete our new tables.
Come in and enjoy the new elbow room, fresh look and a lot less wobble. Thanks to my friends at New Generation Wood Products for a
job well done. We are also planning for another major renovation and expansion within the next couple of months. Stay tuned for more info.
The weather may not have been all that hot but the entertainment inside the Groove certainly was. Bands like Alistair Christl and The
Swinging Chandeliers brought a great rockabilly sound while The Hurricanes and Mudhounds reminded us of the all the classic rock and
blues tunes we grew up with. Boss Rebel handed out a healthy portion of Ska and Reggae while Remedy and 2 ˝ chords supplied great light
hearted, fun evenings that were enjoyed by many new and old faces. Comedy night hosted by Matt Williamson left me crying in the aisles.
This monthly event has been building momentum and the comedy craze has landed at The Groove Kitchen. Matt has been bringing a number
of very talented comedians from all over Ontario. Thanks Matt, keep up the good work !
September may be our craziest month yet. We have an exciting entertainment schedule including a much requested dinner jazz show
featuring Keith Murch, Andy Klein and Amber Lee Morais. Chef John Wellwood will be cooking up some new features to prepare us for our
new fall menu. We will also be involved in a few of the cities most interesting events. Please read on to find out more...
Cheers,
Matt Storch

Bring Your Own Vinly Night at The Groove Kitchen!
|
|
|
Everyone that visits The Groove Kitchen & Music Room comments on the album covers that we have displayed on the walls or the records themselves that
are hanging over the stage and in the windows. I hear everything from “I’ve got that one” or “I can remember when that first came out”.
I also have been
hearing a lot of people saying that they have recently dug up their old milk crates and have been thumbing through their collection of some great tunes
and memories. Well now is your chance to get together with some like minded enthusiasts. Starting Wednesday, September 3, we will be hosting
bring your own vinyl nights. Grab a couple of your favorite tracks and bring them down to share the crackle!

What's Hot In The Kitchen?
|
The buzz around The Groove Kitchen & Music Room continues to grow. Our motto of "Come for the food, stay for the entertainment"
seems to have caught on. We have entertained many new, curious faces over the past months and many of those people have quickly
become regular friends of the Groove. This is no surprise as Chef John Wellwood continues to wow our patrons with his fresh, made to order
approach. Check out www.thegroovekitchen.com for complete menu listings and restaurant reviews. In the meantime let me remind you of some of our signature dishes like our lunch favourite the "Marakesh Express Clubhouse" served on a fresh portugese bun and piled high with avacodo, tomato,
cucumber, chicken and sprouts. Our sandwich features would not be complete without John's famous haystax. If you are more of an evening
person, the Groove is an excellent option if you are looking for a nice peaceful dinner in the surroundings of some of the areas most talented
artists work. How about our handmade "Rascals Ravioli" stuffed with cream cheese and served over homemade tomato sauce or "Sugar
Mountain" pork tenderloin in an apple / maple glaze. Call today to reserve a spot for your next date, annivesary, birthday or just another great
night on the town.
Keep a look out for our new fall & winter menu coming in October!
As always, thank you for your continued support !
